Jeannette Lofas, CSW
Lofas is a recognized leader in the field of step relationships. She was the first ever to describe the stepfamily's specific dynamics and is the recipient of the first National Parents' Day Award from the President of the United States for her efforts in strengthening step relationships in families across America. She is a recognized media personality and public speaker. She has appeared on such shows as The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, The Oprah Winfrey Show and Larry King. Lofas has been featured in such publications as: The New York Times, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Better Homes and Gardens, and New York Magazine. She is the author of a number of books including Stepparenting for the 21st Century, Living in Step, How to be a Stepparent. Lofas is the founder of the Stepfamily Foundation. It was the first organization in the world devoted solely to the problems and challenges encountered in step relationships. She has personally, or by telephone, counseled thousands, and has trained over 10,000 helping professionals.
