Gil Hallows, Executive Director, Aspen Achievement Academy A Native of Utah, Gil has a BS in Geography and a MS in History from Utah State University. He spent five years teaching history at Ohio University and three years at Labette Community College in Kansas before returning to Utah in 1995 to join Aspen. Gil assisted in the startups of Aspen Ranch and Passages to Recovery, and has been the director of Aspen Achievement Academy since 1996. He has been involved in the Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Industry Council (OBHIC) since its beginning. Gil serves as treasurer of the board of directors and is a member of the Ethics Committee. Gil has many years experience working with teens in various volunteer capacities, and has raised five children of his own. He loves to hike and cross-country ski with his wife Flora in the mountains and deserts of south central Utah.
