Megan comes to NATSAP with over 8 years of state legislative experience ranging from interning in the Maryland General Assembly to monitoring legislation across the 50 states. She holds a Bachelors in Political Science from Salisbury University. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching the Washington Capitals and road trips with her family.
Darnella comes to NATSAP with over ten years’ of experience as a Meeting Planner, working in the nonprofit field. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Master’s degree in Organizational Communications as well as achieving her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation. Darnella brings over eight years of experience specifically in the educational nonprofit field and has dedicated her career to causes that make meaningful contributions to society. In her spare time, she likes to attend concerts, travel and spend time with family.
Shanita Smith, Director of Membership and Public Relations
Shanita brings to NATSAP over 8 years of nonprofit experience ranging from membership to event planning and donor relations. She received her Bachelors degree in Recreation and Tourism Management with an emphasis in Event Planning from Old Dominion University. Shanita developed a strong sense of devotion for the nonprofit sector during an internship with Leadership Greater Washington. This experience gave her a deep appreciation for how nonprofits seek to improve the quality of our members; one program at a time. In her free time, Shanita enjoys playing with her daughter, reading, traveling and eating.
, Administrative Assistant/Office Coordinator
Valerie brings to NATSAP over 15 years of nonprofit experience ranging from administrative assistant to membership assistant and data entry operator. She has worked for a few of the major associations in the DC/VA/MD area. She is an 1981 graduate of the Washington School for Secretaries. In her free time, Valerie enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, watching movies and football. She is an die hard Washington Redskins fan.
